As a disclaimer, bet at your own risk, I make no guarantees of accuracy or profit, these are simply my picks and my opinion, yada yada yada, legalese.
Your boy almost missed this week. Just 5 days ago I was excited about the big, juicy, empty calendar I had for this week. But, just like that, an empty calendar turned into 3 doctor appointments, a contentious HOA meeting, a leg day at the gym, a church gathering, a spontaneous dinner at Longhorn Steakhouse, and 5 full work days. Not that I’m complaining about doing the work that pays my bills or anything, but, nonetheless, I was expecting an easy week. No such luck.
The most unpredictable college football season continues as Georgia-Auburn hit the over by one freaking point, South Carolina flopped at Tennessee, USC’s defense still sucks (okay, that actually should have been predictable, my bad), Texas blasted Kansas into smithereens, Kiffin actually won a big game, and Alabama showed up in Starkville after limping halfway through the season. Bad, bad, BAD week for your boy. I honestly don’t know what I think I know, anymore. Now, look at the matchups this week. Tough again, given what we thought we knew.
The fake news media is giving Mizzou a noon time slot at home against LSU (-6) to make sure LSU has the edge the one year in recent memory that Mizzou has a shot at the upset. There’s Alabama -2 at Texas A&M. A Kentucky team that resembles the early Kirby Smart Georgia teams is marching into Athens to go up against a Georgia team starving for explosive plays, but Georgia is still favored by 2 TDs in prime time. Then there is the highest-stakes Red River Shootout in years. UCF is favored at Kansas. Notre Dame is favored -6.5 at Louisville. Every good game, line, and over/under is a coin flip. So, let’s flip a freaking coin, boys and girls.
TAMU (+110) vs Alabama
If Texas A&M loses this game, they should be embarrassed. This is a worse Bama team than the one they beat at home in 2021. Meanwhile, A&M finally has an offense that moves the ball and has a statistically solid defense. Time to knock Bama out of the playoff race.
Miami -19.5 vs GT (-110)
Miami has very quietly remained among the ranks of the undefeated, except for their very loud win over Texas A&M. Georgia Tech is still hot trash, and there’s no reason they shouldn’t get buried under Hard Rock.
Flyers
Texas (-220) vs Oklahoma
I’ll probably regret saying this, but it just might be Texas’ year to make the playoff. I’ve never been a “Texas is back” guy, but their resume looks pretty strong. Stronger than Oklahoma’s. Vegas agrees. Coin: flipped
LSU -5.5 (-120) at Mizzou
Sorry, my Mizzou friends and family. It’s great that Mizzou is undefeated at this point in the season, but they ain’t played nobody yet Pawllll! The KSU win was actually pretty impressive at the time it happened, but Mizzou has struggled in most of the games it has played this season. LSU hasn’t exactly impressed either, to be sure, but they’ve been given an advantageous time slot at Faurot Field. Pathetic! If it was a night game, I might take Mizzou to win, but I think LSU is going to take advantage of a sleepy noon crowd and crush a team with a lot less talent than itself. I’ll still root for Mizzou, though. I’ve got money from my last two Natty bets to burn. Maybe I’ll place a separate underdog parlay. THWLSU
